ABOUT US

Established in 1972 by Lawrence and Gayle De Lai, De Lai Monumental and Granite has grown over the years to service the vast area of Far North Queensland. Steve Pope and his partner Angela took over the business from the De Lai family in 2017. Steve completed his apprenticeship with Lawrence and has also had a variety of experience in the construction industry over twenty years.



Our main focus is monumental work, beautiful granite headstones, full monuments and mausoleums. We also supply bronze plaques and funerary art such as statues and crosses. We have extensive experience with creating beautifully sculpted works of art to accommodate whatever style you choose, whether you want something understated and simple to meet your loved one's wishes or you are going for something larger, more intricate and elegant. Our goal is to create something as unique as the individual being remembered. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
